Does Hanko stream anime?
No. Hanko is a tracker, not a streaming site. You watch on Crunchyroll, Netflix, or wherever you already watch, and Hanko keeps your progress, ratings, and stats in one place. Nothing plays here.
So what does it actually do?
It remembers where you are in everything. Log episodes and chapters as you go, rate titles, and watch your stats build. Seasons are grouped into one series, so progress counts across the whole show. There is also a discovery queue: one pick at a time, plan it, or never see it again.
Is it free? What's the catch?
Core tracking is free forever, with no ads. The optional Supporter tier funds the servers and adds the AI recommendations that cost real money to run. That is the whole business model.
Can I bring my AniList or MyAnimeList library?
Yes. One-click import from AniList or MAL, and one-click export back out whenever you like (MAL XML, JSON, or CSV), free. A tracker should earn your stay, not lock the door.
How do ratings work?
Scores are out of 10 with half points, so an 8.5 is fine. You choose how they show: 1 to 10, five stars, or smileys. Switch anytime in Settings or right next to any rating; nothing is lost, the same score just displays differently.
Will Hanko show where to watch?
Not yet. Where-to-watch links and sub/dub info are on the roadmap.
Is there a mobile app?
Install Hanko straight from your browser (Add to Home Screen on iPhone, install prompt on Android) and it works like a native app. An Android app is in final testing on Google Play.
Why is a cover missing or a title incomplete?
The catalog holds over 50,000 titles and an automated pipeline enriches it nightly, so covers for newer or obscure manga are still filling in. If something looks wrong, tell us on the support page and it gets fixed.
What about mature content?
Hidden by default. Turn on the mature toggle in Settings if you want those titles to show. Straight-up adult content is not in the catalog at all.
Is my library public?
Private by default. Your profile and activity stay hidden until you switch them on, and individual entries can be kept private even on a public profile. Your comfort watch is your business.
How do I delete my account?
Export your list first if you want a copy, then the data deletion page walks you through it.
